''Mediterranean Breviary'' selected for the Cross Video Days

The Mediterranean Breviary project, produced by Factum, is one of the 42 projects selected among 350 submitted entries from 34 countries which will be presented in June in Paris to prospective co-financers, co-producers and broadcasters.

Mediterranean Breviary
is an inspiring journey through the relatively unknown sources, wondrous facts and fascinating details of the Mediterranean, the origin of western civilisation, based on the namesake collection of fantasy essays by Predrag Matvejević. This is the most successful book by a Croatian author ever written, translated thus far in 26 languages and published in countless editions (11 only in Italy), unique in its erudition, wealth of associations and simplicity. The universal appeal of the subject matter and the book itself made it an ideal starting point for an inspirational journey across the Mediterranean.

The cross-platform character of this project is evident from the fact that in was planned in several interconnected versions – a classic 13-part television series, an interactive website connected with Facebook, and an augmented reality application intended for mobile platforms – smartphones, tablets and ‘goggles’.

Cross Video Days connects producers and developers of digital content with co-financers, prospective co-producers, leading European broadcasters (BBC, Canal+, France Télévisions, ZDF, ARTE, TVE, Fremantle, DR, NTR) and new platforms.
