''Blockade'' in Slovenian Theatres

The Slovenian premiere of Blockade took place on 8 January at Kinodvor and it was attended by the director, Igor Bezinović, and Oliver Sertić, one of the producers, who participated after the first screening in a discussion on free education, alongside Zdravko Popović, member of the Academic Solidarity Union from Zagreb; Miho Novak, student activist and graduate student of ethnology and cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Ljubljana; and Marko Marinčič, member of the Higher Education Union of Slovenia.

After the opening, the film will remain on Kinodvor’s regular screening schedule, and will tour other Slovenian cities after Ljubljana.

The film about the occupation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb premiered at the last edition of ZagrebDox, and has so far toured 15 international festivals (in Germany, Czech Republic, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Turkey, Hungary, Croatia and Kosovo, with special screenings at universities in Marburg, Prague, Brno, Montreal and Bremen).

Blockade won a special mention at the prestigious Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival and Underhillfest in Podgorica. At the last Days of Croatian Film it won the Audience Award and Oktavijan Award given by the Croatian Film Critics’ Association for the best documentary.

The film was produced by Factum and Restart from Croatia. The Slovenian distributer is Demiurg distribution company.
